Stewart - John 1900 - Montgomery InGenWeb Project

“Home, sweet, home, there is no place like home,” was the thoughts of the children of John Stewart as they gathered around the old homestead on Tuesday, the 10th of July. Six of them, with the aged mother, met at the home of James H., where the children were born, the home where father sickened and died, the home where those children grew to manhood and womanhood, the home now so dear to them as they think of the many happy and pleasant scenes they have witnessed around the old home place. This family now consists of James H. and A., Mort, who lived on the old farm some four miles southeast of Darlington, W. C., of Crawfordsville, Mollie A. Coffin, of Westland, Ind., Kate Hammock, of Radnor, Ind., and Emma L. Mount, of Indianapolis, all being present with mother and uncle Tom Stewart. Several grandchildren and a few friends constitute the party known as the Stewart reunion. The day was spent in talking over old times, feasting on the fat of old farm, reviving old memories and enjoying the society of each other. Bert Martin went out in the afternoon and photographed the family together, with some of the old familiar scenery about the old home and now will take to their home a souvenir of the day. -s
