Lloyd L. Stewart died Wednesday at an Oakland Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Stewart was born and raised near Darlington, Ind and had been a resident of the Petaluma area since 1924. Prior to his death he resided at 430 Gossage Ave. Mr. Stewart was graduated from Purdue University in 1915 and taught at Massachusetts Agriculture College and Iowa State. He served with the US Armed Forces overseas during WWI. He was affiliated with Must Hatch Incubator Company of Petaluma and was a sales representative and nutrition consultant for Nopco Chemical company for 26 years. He also worked for Freedstuffs Processing Company in San Francisco for 11 years. He had been retired for the past few years. Mr. Stewart was an active member of the United Church of Christ, the Petaluma Lions Club, Petaluma Masonic Lodge No 180 F&AM, the Petaluma Chapter No 22 Royal Arch, Mount Olivet Commandry#20, Petaluma Post No 2erican Legion and the Cinema Club. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Stewart; his son, Dr. Leland Stewart of Palo Alto and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Christ, 825 Middlefield Drive, Petaluma with Rev. Herbert Bauck officiating. Interment will be at the Alta Mesa Cemetery at Palo Alto. Friends may call at the Parents Funeral Chapel, Magnolia Avenue and Keokuk Street until 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
