Waynetown - Mrs. Cordelia May Stephens, 59, died Thursday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Hedrick, south of Waynetown. She had been in failing health for several years and had moved to her daughter's home when her condition became serious 4 weeks ago. Born Jan 27, 1891 near Whitesville, she was the daughter of Thomas and Maggie Hanifin Grisson (sic - Grissom). She was married to Earl Stephens in Crawfordsville Oct 18, 1911. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Wingate Christian Church. Surviving are the husband, Earl of RFD 2, Wingate; her mother, Mrs. Thomas Grisson of Crawfordsville; two daughters, Mrs. Hedrick at whose home she died and Mrs. Dorothy Meadows, RFD Crawfordsville; a sister, Mrs. Mary Kenney of Indianapolis, a brother, Claude Grisson, of Mississippi and six grandchildren. One son died in infancy. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 from the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Homer Hunsinger will be in charge and burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. - kbz
