Funeral services for James Stence 85 years old, Crawfordsville grandfather of Miss Marcia Pinkstaff, present “Miss Indiana,” will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Shirley Brothers Irvin Hill Chapel. Burial will be in Washington Park East Cemetery. Mr. Stence, a 50-year member of North Park Masonic Lodge died Monday in a Crawfordsville Hospital. Born in North Ireland, Mr. Stence came to Indianapolis in 1905 and lied here until 1 ½ years ago when he moved to Crawfordsville. He was a retired repairman for the NY Central RR. He was a member of Murat Shrine and Retired Railway Employees Association. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth E. Pinkstaff of Crawfordsville and Mrs. AL LaRocque of Ft Myers, Fla; four other grandchildren and four great grandchildren. – kbz
