Clella Juanita Steele, 95, Waynetown died 1:10 p.m. Wednesday in Williamsburg Nursing Home, Crawfordsville. Mrs. Steele spent most of her adult life as a homemaker but worked as a young woman for Hardy's Pastry Shop, Crawfordsville, Brunners Grill, Crawfordsville and Cleveland Bakery.
She was born March 18, 1910 at Montgomery County to Everett Plunkett and Laura Bayless. She attended Covington High School. On August 25, 1930 she married Homer Steele. He died Sept 9 1984. Survivors include a son, James (Doris) Steele, Wingate; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren. Two daughters, Marilyn Jane Steele and Rosalyn Jean Bushong are deceased. A private graveside service will be conducted Friday for the family in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Steele asked that no flowers be sent for her funeral but memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, Crawfordsville. - kbz
