Mrs. Dr. L. Stanley, of Roachdale, mother of Mrs. Robert H. Williams of this city died at her home at 7:45 o’clock Wednesday evening after a short illness of typhoid fever and uremic poisoning, Mrs. Stanley was taken ill just a few days ago, shortly after Dr. Stanley had recovered from an illness that continued for several weeks and that necessitated the performing of an operation at Indianapolis about two months ago. Besides her husband she is survived by four children: John M. Stanley of Ladoga; Will Stanley who lives at home; Prudy, wife of Ira Foster of Ladoga and Winnie, wife of Robert H. Williams. All of the children and her husband were with her when she died. Mrs. Stanley was 56 years of age. She was a woman beloved by all who knew her and was one of the prominent residents of Roachdale. Her death was a shock to the community. She was a member of the Universalist Church at Fincastle and was a women known for her good works. The funeral occurs at the Christian Church in Roachdale Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment at Ladoga Cemetery – kbz
