Effie May Stewart, 89, of 302 N. Oak St., a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church, Pythian Sisters, WRC and Royal Neighbors, died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday in Culver Hospital. A native of Illinois, she was born Sept. 6, 1884 to Edward and Sarah Hamilton. She married William Stewart, who preceded her in death. Surviving Mrs. Stewart are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Wheat of Colfax and Mrs. Jess Moore and Mrs. Donald (Vivian) Brennan of Crawfordsville; seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiating and interment in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. – jlr
