NEW MARKET - Claude Stevenson, 81, retired farmer and implement dealer from the New Market area, died here Sunday morning. Mr. Stevenson was a member of the New Market Christian Church. He had been a member of the New Market Town Board many years. He was born on Nov. 20, 1891, in Kansas. He was a son of James Edward and Minnie Bell Supernaw Stevenson. He was married to Madia Copas on Sept. 18, 1912, at Ottawa, Kan. She survives. Also surviving are five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a son. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Powers Funeral Home here with the Rev. William Schalk officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. - jlr
