Eugene STARBUCK, 8-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Starbuck living two and one half miles southeast of Kennard, was instantly killed when he was accidentally shot by his half-sister, Olive Starbuck. The father had been shooting at crows and laid the revolver on a low shelf. The daughter picked it up with the apparent intention of placing it out of the reach of her brother. The revolver slipped in her hands and as she attempted to grasp it more firmly it was discharged. The bullet entered the boy’s breast. 12 years ago the mother of the girl and an infant baby were murdered for which one man served a term in the state prison.
