Greencastle Banner: Rev. Ora Squire died Sunday evening at half past six o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Joslin, on Seminary Street. He was ninety three years old at the time of his death. His birthplace was in New York and for twenty seven years he was a member of the New York Conference, being engaged in ministerial work during that period. From New York he removed to Clyde, Ohio, and was in business and the ministry at the same time during his residence there. His wife died while they were at Clyde, ten years ago, and eight years ago he came to this state to make his home with his daughters, Mrs. Joslin, of this city, and Mrs. Parks of Martinsville, most of the time being spent here. He was also the father of ex United states Senator W. C. Squire, of Seattle, Washington.
Rev. Squire was a man of refined Christian character, beloved by all who knew him. Notwithstanding the fact that he was blind for nearly ten years, and in poor health, he was always bright and seemingly happy, and it seemed a good thing that he should find his vision and perfect health in the land above, on the anniversary of the resurrection of Christ.
The remains will be taken to Clyde for interment, the time of the funeral depending upon the arrival of the son from Washington. – thanks to S for this one
