Hillsboro - Wilbur C. Sprouls, 77 of Rt 1, former owner and operator of a grocery store and service station at Mellott died Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was also a former employee of Veedersburg Brick Co. Born Feb 3, 1896 at Olivet, Ill he was a member of the Olivet Church. He was married to Grace Janeway who preceded him in death. He married May 2, 1946 Verdie Coffing. She survives. Other survivors include a son Ernest of Hammond; three daughter, Mrs. Joe (Francis) Ratcliff of Wingate; Mrs. Harold (Maxine) Hutts of Edwardsburg, Mich; and Mrs. Josephine Darwactor of Attica; three stepsons, Wayne Clodfelder of Westville, Ill; Floyd Clodfelder of Danville, Ill and Robert Clodfelder of Indianapolis; 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, two brothers and a sister. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m.Saturday in Parham Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial in Rockfield Cemetery there. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday.
