Helen Springer
of RR 1, Waynetown, age 71, was found dead Monday morning, March 29, at her
home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was born at Waynetown, May
12, 1910, the daughter of John J. and Edith Rae McCoy West. September
10, 1927, she married Ralph Springer, who died June 12, 1977.
Survivors include
two daughters, Lenora Gibson of Indianapolis and Bettie Lou Carver of
Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, Roy of Crawfordsville and Leon of Waynetown;
three sisters, Mary Lewellen and Martha Hutchinson, both of Waynetown, and
Maxine Weliver of Crawfordsville; eight brothers, George West of Lafayette,
Gerald Wet of New Richmond, Alfred and Max West of Crawfordsville, Paul and
Robert West of Waynetown, Donald West of Rosedale and Oscar West of Veedersburg;
an aunt, Bea Nichols of Waynetown; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and
one great great grandchild.
Funeral services
were held Wednesday afternoon at Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev.
Dorman Winger officiating. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. -kbz
