Springer - George

Source: Crawfordsville Star, Nov 4, 1873

A man by the name of George Springer died at his boarding house, William Bratton’s on the 23rd inst at 4 o’clock p.m. The deceased was well and hearty on the eve before his death; but lying down to sleep in the engine house at the water tank on the RR he awakened from sleep complaining of being benumbed or paralyzed whereupon Mr. Bratton took him to the house where he remained in his paralyzed condition until his death. He did not complain of any pain whatever but passed away easy. The deceased was a German and a stranger, about 25 years of age and had been here but a few weeks having worked on a brickyard at this place (Waynetown). From the best information that can be obtained he hailed from Detroit, Michigan. He was buried by the citizens here under the direction of the Township Trustee. – note: there are several Springers buried in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery but seem to be a generation after him but can’t imagine they are not some relation - kbz
