Springer - Brooke Owen

Brooke Owen Springer, 66, of 807 John St., died at 4:10 a.m. Thursday. He had been ill about six years. Mr. Springer was a construction worker and a member of the Fremont Street Baptist Church. He was born in Montgomery County Jan. 6, 1901, to Lewis and Flora (Lane) Springer. He was married at Crawfordsville Sept. 10, 1924, to Anna Myrtle Cliffton. She died in 1948. On Oct. 17, 1953, he was married to Dallie Parkhurst at Greencastle. Surviving are the widow; two sons, Melvin at home and John of 1704 E. Wabash Ave.; two daughters, Margaret Springer of 400 W. Main St. and Wanda Springer at home; two brothers, Dale and Ralph both of Waynetown; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Williams of Waynetown, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with Rev. Robert Shotts officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. -– jlr
