News of the death of AA Sprague, Civil War veteran and former resident of Crawfordsville, at the Soldier's Home at Danville, Ill, was received in the city yesterday. He was known to friends here at Col. Sprague. According to reports his death occurred yesterday morning. During his residence in this city he resided on South Water Street. He was 80 years old.
During the Civil War he served with a Michigan regiment with distinction. At the close of the war and following his being mustered out of the Army he took up his residence in Crawfordsville. At one time he owned three pieces of property here.
During his residence in this city, Mrs. Sprague died and two years ago he entered the soldier's home. For a number of years he traveled for one of the leading glove houses in New York City. His work took him to many parts of the state and he had a wide acquaintance.
He is survived by a daughter who resides in California. Information concerning the time of the funeral was not received. - kbz
