Mrs. Katherine G. Spitznagle, 77, of Rt. 13, Lafayette, died Monday morning in her home on Indiana 26 east of Lafayette. She had been ill four years. Mrs. Spitznagle was a native and life resident of the Lafayette area. She was married to Edward Spitznagle in 1913. He preceded her in death in 1953. She was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church and the Altar and Aid Society of the church. Survivors include four sons, Bernard of Rt. 5, Lafayette, Francis of Rt. 4, Lafayette and Earl and Merle, at home; nine daughters, Mrs. Harry Cochran, Miss Dorothy Spitznagle and Mrs. Adolph Smith, all of Lafayette, Mrs. John Rettig of Rt. 2, Lafayette, Mrs. Jerome Klinker of Rt. 12, Lafayette, Mrs. Cathryn Biltz and Mrs. Marvin Gick of Fowler, Mrs. Floyd Buckles of Wingate and Miss Arlene Spitznagle at home; 55 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Spitznagle was preceded in death by three sons. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Edward Oberberg will officiate. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
