COVINGTON — Miss Lura Spinning, 82, lifelong resident of Covington, died at 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Care Nursing Home at Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there since last Nov. 10. Miss Spinning was employed by Ranier Drug Store here for many years. She later was employed by Burrin's Pharmacy before retiring about 1956. She was a member of the Covington Methodist Church and the Win One Class of the church. She also was a member of Troy Chapter 145 of Order of Eastern Star and Past Matrons and Past Patrons Club. Born April 20, 1885, at Covington, she was the daughter of Challen W. and Hortense Adamson Spinning. She was never married. Surviving are a sister with whom she made her home, Miss Nina Spinning; a nephew whom she helped rear, John N. Spinning of Jacksonville, Ill.; and three nieces, Mrs. Jean Ensfield of Logansport and Mrs. Dorothy Reeves and Mrs. Betty Weir, both of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with Rev. P. J. Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. --typed by Walt W
