Sperry - Isaac F

Isaac F. Sperry was born in Botetourt County, Virginia, December 20, 1829, and died May 2, 1902. He was married to Susan J. Myers June 18, 1856. To this union were born 12 children, of which six daughters and three sons survive him.
He became a member of the Missionary Baptist Church May 28, 1866, and was fellowshipped into the Christian Church of New Ross, February 16, 1902. He was confined to his room since January 3 most of the time. His suffering was intense but he bore it all with patience and Christian fortitude and greeted everyone with a smile.
He moved to this vicinity from Virginia in 1866 and has been engaged during which time he gained a large range of acquaintances. At the age of 72 years, 4 months and 12 days, he departed from this life leaving a host of sorrowing friends as a token of his true worth.
The funeral was preached by Rev. Hedrick at the Christian Church Sunday forenoon at eleven o’clock. The casket was covered with the most beautiful of carnations and roses and a vast multitude attended the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in their last resting place in the I. O. O. F. Cemetery. He leaves a loving wife, six daughters, three sons, and many other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
