B. Shirley Spencer, wife of Earl Spencer, a former resident died at her home in Crawfordsville early on Tuesday morning of a lingering heart ailment. She was the daughter of Shelby and Margaret Spencer McCormick and was born on the old McCormick place, north of Waveland, now owned by Wilbur Spencer. June 21, 1889. The family moved to Waveland and lived in what is now the Garrie Dillman residence. She was graduated from the high school and from Indiana University. She married Earl Sept 19, 1912. He survives with one daughter, Rose Jean now a few months ago. Funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon in charge of Rev. Paul Million, pastor of the Christian Church of which she was a member. Burial in the Masonic cemetery. Mr. Spencer is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Spencer. -- kbz
