-- Allen Robertson SPENCER, 78, died at Culver Hospital at 4:50 o'clock Sunday morning. He had been ill several years. Mr. Spencer was born Dec 29 , 1867 in Parke County and was the son of George Washington and Mary Clark Spencer. He married Bertha Canine on April 8, 1903. He moved to Waveland 5 years ago after retiring. He was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are his wife; five brothers, John Spencer of Indianapolis; Jesse Spencer; Wilbur Spencer of Waveland; Frank Spencer and Fred of Greene Twp; two sisters, Miss Arla Spencer of Chicago and Mrs. Elmer McCutcheon of Greene Twp and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 Tuesday afternoon at the Christian Church. B urial was in the Old Union cemetery with the Rev. John Servies in charge. Those attending from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. LC Deere of Dallas, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. EN Canine and Mrs. George Spencer of Terre Haute; Miss Gladys Spencer, Cincinnati, Ohio; Miss Margaret Spencer, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Ben Phillips and Mrs. John Spencer of Indianapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Heyt Spencer, Danville, Ind; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Vail; Mrs. Shirl Herr; Mrs. AL Loop, Mrs. JB Griffith; Mrs. Mary McClellan and Miss Mary Swearingen all of Crawfordsville; Mr. and Mrs. JE Rice of Waynetown and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Douglas of New Market.-- kbz
