Winter Fullenwider received a message on Tuesday from his nephew, William Speed of Beechmont, Kentucky saying that his father, R. Canby Speed has just died of typhoid fever. Mr. Speed attended school here and while here became acquainted with Miss Emma Fullenwider, whom he married. He was a member of the Speed family of Louisville and was named after his uncle, General Canby. The funeral is at Cave Hill cemetery today. -- kbz
