NEW RICHMOND, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Velma Goldie Spear, 81, of New Richmond Route 1, died at 6:20 a.m. Sunday (April 2, 1972) at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville. She had been ill 10 years and seriously ill a day. Born in Attica, March 1, 1891, she was the daughter of Hiram and Minnie Beedle Mattox. She was married to Joseph C. Spear, who died in 1970. A resident of the New Richmond area for the past 27 years, she had resided in Attica most of her life. She had been a patient at the Carmen Nursing Home in Crawfordsville for two years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Crawfordsville. Survivors include three cousins, Howard Mattox of Attica and Pauline Reed and Geraldine Neigareth, both of St. John, Mich. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. EST Wednesday at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with the Rev. Laramore K. Wickett officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. Visitation will be at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday.   --typed by Walt W
