Sparks - Delbert

Delbert Sparks, 57, of 700 Tuttle Ave., died Monday night in Logansport. Mr. Sparks was a member of the Nazarene Church at Ladoga. For several years he was a dairy farmer in the New Ross area. He was born June 6, 1912, a son of Jonathon and Thwle Bennet Sparks. He was married Sept. 14, 1936, at Lebanon to Vessie Purdue. Surviving are the widow; five sons, Morris of Columbus, Adrian and Earl of Ladoga, Charles of Crawfordsville and Layton of New Ross; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Edwards of Wingate; a stepson, Roscoe Purdue; a brother, Oakly of Spencer; a half brother, Velmer of Hammond; two half sisters, Mrs. Marie Jones of Kentucky and Mrs. Thelma Ferguson of Cincinnati and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roscoe and Russell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bright Funeral Home here with Rev. Frank Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
