Deltona, (sic) FLA - Victor C. Sowers, 76, died unexpectantly in his home at Deltona Sunday. He was a former resident of Kingman where he served on the town board for 25 years and for several years served as president. For 32 years he owned and operated the Sowers & Sons Dry Gas operation in Kingman. Mr. Sowers was a 50-year member of F&AM Lodge 314 of Kingman. He was also a member of Wallace Low 12 Club, the Kingman Christian Church and an associate of the Daytona (sic) Christian Church. He served as a deacon for both churches. He was born Sept 14, 1909, in Parke County, a son of Sarah and John Sowers. In 1923 he married Goldie Thomas who preceded him in death March 15, 1970. On Jan 2, 1971, he married Hazel William, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Phyllis) Stevenson of Kokomo; a son, Robert of Kingman and four granddaughters, Kay, Jayne, Jo Ellen and Cindy Stevenson. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Kingman Christian Church. Friends may call at the church an hour prior to the service. The Rev. Larry McMillan of Boswell will officiate with Les Downen of Kingman assisting. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may call 3-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman.
