Wallace -- Vernice Russell Sowers d in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Sowers, custodian at Wallace HS the past three years and a school bus driver here for 25 years, suffered a heart attack while at work at the school. He was rushed by ambulance to the hospital but died shortly after arrival there. He was born September 21, 1908 in Fountain County, the son of Samuel and Minnie Grimes Sowers. He was married 1933 to Elon Daniels. They were married at Danville, Ill. Mr. Sowers, a 1928 graduate of Wallace HS resided about one mile north of here. Survivors include the widow; a son, Kedrick of Waynetown, a daughter, Mrs. Kay Blacketer of Wallace, a sister, Mrs. Laverne Clore of Wallace, Five grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The body was taken to Crumley Funeral Home at Hillsboro where friends may pay their respects Wednesday afternoon and evening. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m Thursday.
