Mrs. Sarah Sowers, 82, died at the home of her son, Marney Sowers in Kingman Sunday at 12:30 o'clock. She had been ill one month with a complication of diseases. Born in Jasper Co, Ill on Aug 5, 1858 Mrs. Sowers was the daughter of Noah and Melinda Myers. She was married to Thomas Sowers 59 years ago. Since his death nine years ago, she had made her home with her children. Surviing in addition to the son at whose home she died are two sons, Bert of Wallace and Roy of Marshall and two grandch. Fun. services were held at 10:30 o'clock Wed morning and the body taken to a cemetery near Newton, Ill for burial. - kbz

Mrs. Thomas Sowers died at the home of her son, Marney at Kingman on Sunday afternoon. She was the widow of Thomas Sowers, who formerly lived here and had a blacksmith shop where the Heinen garage is, and later, with Elijah Myers carried on the Ajax Novelty Works. Mrs. Sowers was the daughter of Noah and Melinda MYERS and was born in Jasper Co ILL. August 5, 1858. She married Mr. Sowers in 1899. Besides Marney there are two other sons: Bert of Wallace and Roy of Marshall. The body was taken to Newton, Ill on Wednesday for burial. - kbz

Sarah MYERS SOWERS, daughter of Noah and Malinda Myers was born August 5, 1858 in Jasper Co, Ill and departed this life March 30, 1941 aged 82 years 7 months 25 days at th ehome of her son, Marney E. Sowers, Kingman, Indiana. She was united in marriage to Thomas W. Sowers Nov 17, 1881 and to this union were born 7 children, Mr. Sowers and four children having preceded her in death. She is survived by 3 sons; Marney of Kingman; Bert of Wallace; Roy of Marshall; two grandchildren, Thomas Leslie Sowers and Maryellen Sowers, one brother, Thomas Myers of Newton Ill and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Lutheran Church near Wallace, Ind. The parting is sad and we shall all miss her. But we would not call her back if we could for she is at rest and with her Lord and Master, who doeth all things well. "Sunset and evening star and one clear call for me; And may there be no moaning at the bar when I put out to sea. Twiling and evening bell and after that hte dark; And may there be no sadness or farewell when I at last embark. For tho' from out othe bourn of time and place The floods may bear me far; I hope to see my pilot face to face when I have crossed the bar." Funeral services were held at the Machledt Funeral Home Wed. April 2 at 10 a.m. Burial was made 6 miles So. of Jewitt, ill. Rev. CN McBrayer had charge of the services. - kbz
