Ralph W. Sowers, 52, died Sunday at Home Hospital in Lafayette where he had been a patient the past two weeks. Born in Wallace June 3, 1914, he was a son of Benjamin and Margaret McMullen Sowers. He was married to Lillian Eileen Dill July 6, 1938. She died May 8, 1959. He was then married to Helen Louise Cogar June 2, 1962. Mr. Sowers attended school at Wallace. He had farmed in Benton County since 1943. He was a member of the Oxford Christian Church where he had been deacon and elder. Mr. Sowers also belongs to the Eagles Lodge at Attica. Surviving besides the widow, Helen are two daughters, Miss Donna Jean Sowers at home and Mrs. Janet Kay Stinson of Fowler, 3 brothers, Lawrence of Mahomet, Ill; Harold of Waveland and Parvin of Decatur, Ill; a sister, Mrs. Francis Fox of Fowler; a half brother, Clarence Sowers of Decatur, Ill and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Norma Jean Flenner of Clinton, OK. Services are set for 2 p. m. Tuesday here at Shippe-Konzelman Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 p. m. today. Burial in West Cemetery. - kbz
