One writer has said, "To change and change is life," this is true. Nothing that comes into existence is destroyed; in only changes conditions and existence; and what we call death is only stepping out of this life into another to live forever somewhere. So the subject of this sketch has left us. "Martha Eunice Bannon was born. in Ohio, Oct 26, 1854, of pious christian parentage. her parents came to this state when she was 4. Her life was that of the ave. country girl. Among her childhood memories fondly cherished were those of the famous old Tippecanoe battlegrounds where she played so often. She was converted in early childhood and united with the Methodist Church and was a member at the time of her death. She was married to GW Sowers Aug 1869 an her life since that time has beeen spent in this community and is like an open book before us. The testimony of her family is that she was a faithful wife, a good indulgent mother. She was a good neighbor and already to lend a helping hand in time of need. Her last act was one of mercy and helpfulness for one of her neighbors. She slipped quietly away to meet her maker on the evening of Nov 30, 1918 leaving a record of 64 years. Three children preceded her in death and three are still livnig, Ora of Terre Haute; Mrs. Claude Philpott of Covington and Ralph of Topeka Ks. The funeral was held in the Methodist Church on the morning of December -- at 10 o'clock conducted by Lee Wesley. Burial in Harveysburg cemetery.

Kingman, Dec 2 - Mrs. G.W. Sowers died here Saturday night at 8 o'clock with heart trouble. Mrs. Sowers had been afflicted with heart trouble, having had several attacks which almost caused her death. She was as well as usual Saturday and only lived 30 minutes after the attack. She was 68 years old and is survived by her husband, two sons, Ora of Terre Haute and Raph of Topeka, Kans and one daughter, Mrs. Claude Philpott, of Covington; one brother David Bannon of Waynetown and 5 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. The funeral services will be held at the Methodist Episcopal Church where she was a member Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock with burial at Harveysburg Cemetery. --kbz
