Charles L Sosbe, 77, of 208 Maple Street, died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday at his home He had been ill two years and in critically condition four weeks. He was born Jan 28, 1888 in Tipton County to Archibald and Rhoda Bolton Sosbe He was married to Leona G. Bond Cox Aug 17, 1912 at Martinsville. Mr. Sosbe was a member of the First EUB Church at Elwood and was educated at the Maple Grove School in Brown County. He was employed by the Indiana Bell Telephone Co for 22 years and the Crawfordsville Electric Light & Power Co for 12 and last worked at the DeKalb Seed Co. He retired in 1959. He moved to Crawfordsville in 1920 from Greenwood. He coached and managed in the Little Baseball program for several years. Mr. Sosbe is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Elkins, Mrs. Maxine Barnett and Mrs. Bessie Plikerd all of Crawfordsville; three sons, Charles V. Wayne and Robert, all of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Rule and Mrs. Hazel Buchanan both of Indianapolis and Mrs Blanche Sering of Crawfordsville; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Betty Jane Peacock, and a grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. John Servies will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday.
