Mrs. Ella Theurer Sommer, 90, mother of Howard A. Sommer, judge of the Montgomery Circuit Court, died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in the Jay Co Hospital at Portland, Ind. She had been seriously ill for over a year. Mrs. Sommer was the widow of Charles Sommer, who died in April 1966. She resided at salamonia, Ind. Born Nov 18, 1879, in Jay County, Mrs. Sommer was the daughter of Jacob and Christena Grile Theurer. She was married Dec 28, 1899. Mrs. Sommer was a member of the United Church of Christ at Salamonia. Surviving in addition to Judge sommer are five other sons: Karl of Jay Co, Dr. Clarence of Cincinati; Alva of near Union City, Ivan of Greenville, Ohio and Arlie of Saint Mary's Ohio; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home at POrtland. Burial will be in the cemetery at Salamonia.
