Lula E Solomon, 84, of 501 Prospect St., died at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday in Golden Manor Nursing Home at Ladoga. Mrs. Solomon was a member of Fremont Street Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Wabash College and Hardeeā€™s Bakery. Born Feb 19, 1896, at Melts Spring, Tenn., she was a daughter of William Andrew and Matilda Mentor Scalf. In 1916, she married Theo Solomon, who preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William (Ferne) Noland of New Market; a son, Wilson Solomon of Crawfordsville; two grandchildren, Judy Klein of Crawfordsville and Michael Noland of Greenville, S.C.; and three great-grandchildren, David and Cathy Klein and Heather Noland. Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Aldridge officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. --smc
