- Linden - Mrs. Lena O. Soards, 63, a former resident of the Linden Community, died Monday afternoon at Newman, Ill. She had been ill with heart ailment. Born July 25, 1889, in Monroe Co KY Mrs. Soards was the daughter of Henry and Betty Wax. She married W. L. Soards Sept 22, 1907. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Soards was a resident of the Linden community for 1930-1943. Since then she had lived in Waynetown most of the time. Surviving are the husband; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Hurt, New Richmond and Mrs. Roy Crabtree RFD 4, Crawfordsville a son, Clyde Soards RFD 4, Crawfordsville; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Ritter and Mrs. Lula Bartley both of Ky; a stepmother Mrs. Julia Dubree, of Ky and two grandchldren. Funeral services held 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church, Crawfordsville, Rev. Paul Hubble will officiate. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour at the church. Friends may call at the family home near Waynetown. - kbz
