Yountsville News item – William Snyder, while assisting Joseph Hopping with his wheat threshing was the victim of an accident that proved fatal in its termination.  While engaged working a rake used to remove the straw, he happened to make a sudden turn and the rake being concealed in the straw, one of its sharp teeth penetrated his breast bone, completely severing one of the arteries of the heart.  William lived but 20 minutes after the thrust, dying to all appearances in calm repose and in a perfect trust as to his future reward. He was one of a family of orphans and leaves but an elder brother, Parker, to mourn his untimely death.  Poor old horse!  Your life was one of hard work and ill usage, and should there be in the hereafter a haven of rest for faithful horses, we sincerely hope the possession of its enjoyment may be allotted to you.
