Waynetown - Myron B. Snyder, 72-year-old former Waynetown postmaster, died at 11:20 a.m. Monday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had been in failing health two years and hospitalized several weeks. Born November 30, 1889, in Fountain County near Waynetown, he was the son of Charles A. and Anna Brown Snyder. He married Feb 8, 1914 to Nellie Bunnell. They were married in Waynetown Baptist Church. Mr. Snyder attended Waynetown schools and graduated from Valparaiso University. He was postmaster here from 1944-1946 and later an insurance agent until his retirement in 1953. He was employed as an assistant clerk at the post office until his health began failing. Mr. Snyder was a member of Waynetown Baptist Church. He served as clerk of the church 8 years and a teacher in the Men's Bible Class a number of hears. Survivors include his wife, a son,Charles W. Snyder of Waynetown; two daughters, Mrs. RIchard H. Smith of Rt 4, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Rex Dazey of Brownsburg; a foster sister, Mrs. Roy Hamm of Hammond; a nephew and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Cedric B. Snyder. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Servies Funeral Home here with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Lewis Poore. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
