Jacob. C. Snyder, one of the best known citizens of Montgomery county, and a former resident of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday afternoon at 5 o’clock at his home in Wingate. He had a severe attack of grip four years ago and has been in a decline ever since. The immediate cause of death, however, was heart failure. He was born in Middletown, O. In 1882 he removed to Missouri, and after a few years returned to Indiana, settling at Wingate, where was has since resided. His first wife, the mother of four of his children died in the fall of 1873. His second wife, mother of the youngest children, survives him. The children are Frank L. Snyder, of this city; Mrs. Joseph Galey of Wingate; Harry Snyder, of Jacksonville, Ill.; John Snyder, of this city; Mrs. Clarence Long, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Al Wallace of Shawnee Mound. The funeral will be held at the residence in Wingate. The burial will be at Oak Hill instead of the Masonic cemetery, as at first arranged.
