On last Friday morning the cycle of a very beautiful earth life was completed. It was the life of Chloa, the eldest of the three children of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Snyder. Born May 2, 1885, died Jan. 27, 1899, aged 13 years, 8 months and 25 days. She had been sick for more than two months, and although at times her sufferings seemed almost unendurable, she bore them with patience and fortitude. Whatever fond parents, friends and physicians could do was done for her recovery, but without avail. At times there were slight hopes, but these were only the parting rays of a swiftly setting sun. Rarely has any child been more generally loved, for she won all hearts to her by her kind, obedient and affectionate nature. It is sad for the parents to give up their loved one. A bright flower has been taken from them, a treasure that nothing of this earth can ever restore. Yet they should remember that the loss to them is a gain to God. After having tasted of the joys and pleasures of this life, she has gone to heaven to gain her reward and to dwell forever with the redeemed and purified. No more sorrow, no more sickness and pain, but peace and joy eternal.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 29, by Rev. A. E. Tinkham, at her home on West Market Street. Interment was at Oak Hill. A large crowd was in attendance to pay the last sad tribute of respect to all that was mortal of the departed one, and to drop a sympathetic tear with those who are bereft.
