NEW RICHMOND -- Mrs. Viola Snouwaert, 66, of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, died at 10:20 p.m. Thursday in Americana Nursing Home at Lafayette, where she had been a patient since July. She lived in the Wingate and New Richmond areas all her life. Mrs. Snouwaert was a 1929 graduate of Jackson Township High School. Born March 19, 1910, she was a daughter of Robert and Rebecca Stover Byers of Tippecanoe County. She married Howard Snouwaert in 1933. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Kennedy of Wingate and Mrs. Nancy Pinegar of Anderson; a brother, Lowell of West Point; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Prather of West Point and Mrs. Leona Swanson of Lafayette; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Snouwaert was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev . Homer Hunsinger officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday.
