Covington - Walter O. Snoddy, 86, Fountain County native and former owner & operator of Snoddy's Grist Mill here, died at 2:35 a.m. today in Woodland Nursing Home, Attica. He had been in ill health for one year. Before moving to the nursing home he had rseided at Rt 1, Covington. He was born July 13, 1886, a son of Milton W. and Eliza J. Holder Snoddy. He was married to Lola A. Yerkes on Dec 22, 1907. She died in 1956. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. C. E. (Dorotha) Matteson of Oak Creek, Colo and Mrs. Betty Hembrey of Danville, Ill; three sons, Charles M. of Evansville; William Dale of Fl; and Walter Owen Jr. and Crothersville; 10 grandchildren 19 graet grandchildren. He is preceded in death by 7 infant children, one daughter, two brothers, a sister and grandson. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hegg Funeral Home here with burial in Snoddy's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday.
