Snelling - Myrtle Sperlin

WAYNETOWN – Mrs. Myrtle Snelling, 91, of Waynetown, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in a hospital at Lagrange. She lived at Waynetown since 1935 and lived the past four years in Millers-Merry Manor Nursing Home at Lagrange. Mrs. Snelling was a member of the Waynetown United Methodist Church. Born Feb. 21, 1885, she was a daughter of Daniel and Martha Parks Sperlin of Longview, Ill. She married Elmer M. Snelling in December of 1902. He preceded her in death in July of 1968. Survivors include seven sons, Paul of Stone Bluff, Alvin of South Bend, Ray of Scotts Bluff, Neb., Walter of Orange Springs, Fla., William of Beaumont, Texas, Robert of Waynetown and Keith of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Merrell of Howe; 29 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, two brothers and a sister. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Ernest Hayden officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. – jlr
