Robert "Bob" G. Snelling, 79 Waynetown died 3:41 p.m. Thursday in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. Mr. Snelling formerly owned and operated Snelling Auto Service in Waynetown for 25 years and worked as a sextant of Waynetown Masonic Cemetery for 10 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. His memberships included Waynetown United Methodist Church and American Legion of Waynetown.
He was born July 7, 1927 in Illinois to Elmore and Mertie Sperlin Snelling. He attended Waynetown HS. On Jan 3, 1945, he married Charlene Carter. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters: Pam Ball, Indianapolis; Jennifer Dennis, Waynetown; one brother, William "Bill" Snelling, Orange Texas; 5 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, seven brothers and one son, Stephen R. Snelling. Graveside services are scheduled 3 p.m. Saturday in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Services entrusted to Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown
