Spruhan - Laura McDade

Mrs. John A. Spruhan died in Culver Hospital on Friday afternoon, following an operation from which she did not rally. Funeral services at the home at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon were conducted by Rev. O.S. Stewart, assisted by Rev. J.T. Boyer. Laura L. McDade, daughter of Samuel and Martha McDade, was born in Benton County Oct 3, 1867. in early girlhood she joined the Christian Church and was a member of the local congregation. July 25, 1894, she was married to J ohn A. Spruhan. To them were born two children, Samuel Maynard and Julia B. She is also survived by a son by a faormer marriage, Lester Clark, of Honolulu Hawaii and one grandson and four stepchildren: Mrs. Kate Garland, Willo, Calif; Fred Spruhan, Tiffin, O; Guy Spruhan, Salem, Va; Mad ge Spruhan, Cincinnati, O. She also leaves to mourn her loss, the husban d, mother, one sister, Mrs. Eva Miller of Seattle, Washington and two brot =hers, Herbert J. of Pasadena, Calif and Louis B. of Pocatello, Idaho. While Mrs. Spruhan has been in poor health,t he seriousness of her condition was not generally realized, and her death came as a shock to the community. She was devoted to her family and was a good neighbor, ever helpful and sympathetic in the hour of need. Those present from a distance were: Mr s. Samuel McDade of Los Angeles, Calif; Mrs. Calvin Galt of Zionsville; Mr s.
