Fred G. Spruhan, son of John and Joan BOHANNON Spruan (sic)  was born in Waveland, Oct 2, 1883; departed this life at his home  in Detroit, April 22, 1944. He graduated from the Waveland High  School in 1902 and received his degree in Civil Engineering from  Purdue in 1906. In 1908 he married Etta GALEY. To this union was  born one son, John Spruhan. In his capacity as a Civil Engineer  he was employed by B & O Railroad, the Seneca County, Ohio  Highway Department and at the time of his death, the Wayne Co.  Road Commission in Detroit. Surviving are the widow, son, one  brother, 3 sisters, an aunt. Funeral services were held at the  Harper & Mulligan Funeral Home with burial at White Chapel  Memorial Park, suburban Detroit.

Fred G. SPRUHN (sic) died at his home in Detroit, Michigan  Saturday morning. He had been in poor health for some time. Mr.  Spruhn was born here, the son of John and Joan Bohannon Spruhn  and was married to Etta GALEY of Russellville in 1908. He was a  member of the first class to be graduated form the Waveland High  School in the first class to be given diplomas here as an  accredited school. In 1907 he was graduated from Perdue  University as a civil engineer and subsequently spent most of his  life elsewhere. H e was a member of the Methodist Church and  Masonic Fraternity. There survives the wife and a son, John of  Detroit and three sisters, Mrs. Ben Garland of Rose California;  Mrs Madge Goodman, Sacramento, California; Mrs. Noel Moore,  Muncie, Ind; two brothers, Guy and Maynard an aunt, Miss Macie  Spruhn of Crawfordsville. Burial in Detroit on Tuesday.
