Jesse Clark SPENCER 86, a retired farmer died Sunday night at  his home south of Waveland. He had been in failing health several  months and seriously ill six weeks. Mr. Spencer was born Nov 10,  1865, in Green Twp, Parke County, where he spent most of his  life. Mr. Spencer was the son of of Judge George W. and Mary  Catherine Spencer. He married Nancy Jane Jack at Rockville June  9, 1886. He was a member of the Waveland Christian church.  Surviving are the widow; two sons, Earl of Crawfordsville and  Harold of Denver Colorado; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Canine of  Waveland; 3 brothers, Wilbur Spencer of Waveland and Frank &  Fred Spencer of Greene Twp, two sisters, Mrs. Elsie McCutchan and  Miss Arla Spencer, both of Waveland; two grandchildren and four  greats. Funeral services were held at the Waveland Christian  Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Paul Osborne office. Burial at  Maple Ridge Cemetery. The Pall bearers were: George Spencer;  Wendell McCutcheon; Hoyt Spencer; Raymond Spencer; Raymond Moore  and Wayne Simms. Flowers bearers were Mrs. HC Loudermill; Mrs.  Raymond Moore; Mrs. Ben Johnson; Mrs. Etta Campbell; Mrs. NR  Walker; Mrs. Richard Johnson; Mrs. Oscar Cook; Mrs. William  Machledt. A quartet consisting of Bob Harbison; Dale Moody;  Leonard Sewell; and Bob Grimes accompanied by Mr. NR Walker sang  The Old Rugged Cross and Whispering Hope. - transcribed by kbz
