George Sparks, residing south of Alamo, passed away at his  home Sat. afternoon at 4:20 o'clock, following an illness which  extended over a period of three weeks. A complication of diseases  caused his death. He was the son of Philip and Mehalia Sparks and  was born where he died Jan 26, 1849, residing at this residence  for 74 years. Mr. Sparks was united in marr. with Miss Emma Bell  on Nov 2, 1892. To this union one child was born, who died in  infancy. The deceased was a member of the Christian Church at  Alamo and the Odd Fellows lodge. He is survived by his wife, one  brother, Dr. Sparks of Yeddo and his mother, who is 94 years of  age. The funeral services will be held at the home Tues afternoon  at two o'clock with burial in the family Cemetery near the home.  The Odd Fellows will be in charge. -- typed by kbz
