Sowers - Michael M.

Michael M. Sowers, 75 died at 10 o'clock this morning at his
home, 5 miles NE of Marshall after an illness of several months
with complications. Mr. S. was born Sept 5, 1859 in Iowa, the son
of Valentine and Mary Sowers. He was first married in 1880 to
Martha Shanks, who died in 1907. Then on July 7, 1909 he was
married to Mary Williams, who survives. Mr. Sowers came to Parke Co.
with his family when he was a small boy. Survivors, besides the
widow, are a son, Perry Sowers of Baldwin, Ks; three brothers, IG
Sowers of Newton, Ill; BE Sowers of Hillsboro and JM Sowers of
near Marshall; two granddaughters and a great granddaughter. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. - transcribed by kbz
