John H. Rice went to Ladoga, Wed. to attend the funeral of his
brother-in-law, James H. Southers, who died on Monday of heart
trouble. He conducted a blacksmith shop in Ladoga for many years,
but latterly has been living in Indianapolis. Mr. Rice learned
his trade with him. The wife, Miss Mattie Rice, died about five
years ago.
