LADOGA – Oscar M. Smith, 82, of Ladoga, died Wednesday morning at the home of his son, Lewis, near New Ross. He had been seriously ill for four weeks. A life resident of the Ladoga area, he was born Nov. 28, 1883, to Zachariah and Ellen Ness Smith. He was married to Nellie Case Nov. 28, 1907, in Ladoga. He had farmed all his life in the area. Survivors include the son; one granddaughter, Mrs. Gerald Hart of Crawfordsville, and two great-grandsons, Gary and Michael Hart. He was preceded in death by his wife. Funeral services will be conducted at the Gephart Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ray Britton of Roachdale officiating. Burial will follow in the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday. – jlr
