NEW RICHMOND--- Mrs. Mildred Morris Smith, 62, died suddenly about 9:30 a.m. Friday at her home here. Mrs. Smith taught school for seven years, first at Cutler and later at Waynetown and Wingate. She was graduated from New Richmond High School and attended Oxford and DePauw universities and Chicago Art Institute. Mrs. Smith was a member of the New Richmond Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and Kappa Kappa Gamma Social Sorority at DePauw, Montgomery County DAR, New Richmond Research Club and Monday Study Club and Art League at Lafayette. Born March 31, 1903, near New Richmond, she was a daughter of John and Louella Graves Morris. She married Russell Smith Sept. 28, 1930. They were married at the home of the bride near New Richmond. Surviving are two sons, M.L. Smith of New Richmond and E.C. Smith of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Henderson of New Richmond; and two grandchildren, Mark and Kathleen Smith, both of New Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in May of 1964, and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Meharry. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.
