Mrs. Henry Smith died at the Shades Hotel early on Saturday after being sick for more than a year. Funeral services were held at the ME Church on Sunday afternoon, in charge of the pastor. Interment at Mapel Ridge. Mary E. Ketcham was born in Dayton, Ohio Spet 9, 1860 and departed this life March 18, 1916, aged 55 years 6 months 9 days. She was married to Henry Smith Nov 27, 1882. Two children came to bless this home. Mrs. Rosa Wilkinson of Urbana, Ill and Forest Smith who resides near here. -- kbz

Waveland March 19 -- Mrs. Mary Ellen Ketchem SMITH was born near Greensburg in 1861. She passed away Saturday morning at 6:30 after an illness of about a year. Death was due to leakage of the heart and dropsy. Although she had been ailing quite awhile she bore up bravely until the end when her good father called her home. She was married in with 1882 to Henry Smith. They have resided in this neighborhood only 4 years. Three sister and two brothers also two children. Forest who resides with them Mrs. Wilkinson of Urbana Ill and her grief stricken husband survive. Funeral Sunday afternoon at Freedom conducted by Rev. OS Stewart of the Waveland ME Church. Burial in Freedom cemetery. -- kbz
