Waynetown, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Katie Fouts Smith, 78, died at 6 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 19, 1967) in Culver Hospital where she had been seriously ill a month. Born Aug. 17, 1889 in Louisville, Ky., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Bowsher. On May 1, 1909 she was married to Carl W. Fouts, who died in 1951. On Nov. 18, 1958 she married Carl Smith, who died in 1962. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Alamo Christian Church. She lived in Millton, W. Va., before coming to Waynetown where she lived 10 years before moving to Alamo in 1958. She was educated at Hillsboro School in Fountain County. Surviving are two sons, Harry Fouts of Logansport and John F. Fouts of Ironton, Ohio; two stepsons, Dorman Smith and Robert Smith, both of Crawfordsville rural route; six step-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown with the Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
